Shattered Soulds By: Mary Lindsey

Lenzi hears voices and has visions - gravestones, floods, a boy with steel gray eyes. Her boyfriend, Zak, can't help, and everything keeps getting louder and more intense. Then Lenzi meets Alden, the boy from her dreams, who reveals that she's a reincarnated Speaker - someone who can talk to and help lost souls - and that he has been her Protector for centuries.

Now Lenzi must choose between her life with Zak and the life she is destined to lead with Alden. But time is running out: a malevolent spirit is out to destroy Lenzi, and he will kill her if she doesn't make a decision soon.

I loved this book! My mom gave it to me to read after telling me how much she loved it. This book is from the point of view of Lenzi. She has the ability to hear ghosts and it is her job to help them cross over. Usually this entails just listening to them or delivering a message, but some times the ghosts can be so mad that they are require an exorcism. She is reincarnated into new lives over and over with her protector and her memories to continue to help, but for some reason this time she can't remember any of her past lives. Luckily she isn't alone in this. Her protector Alden is teaching her what to do and is slowly helping her gain her confidence.

Lenzi has a lot of things to deal with. She thinks that she is going crazy because she is hearing voices, finds out that she has had many past lives involving a handsome stranger (Alden) and she has to learn how to help these ghosts cross over. She is a very strong girl and doesn't loose it as much as I probably would in her situation. I like that she was careful around Alden at first. She did feel safe with him and he seemed familiar but she didn't go running to him immediately.

Alden is the perfect hero for this story. He balances out Lenzi so well. He really is her strength were she starts falling short and helps her through all of her problems. Of course it can't be too easy, he is a little hard headed and sometimes censors what is going on so she doesn't have to bear too much at once. That flaw is what makes him the perfect hero, I can't imagine characters that are too perfect.

The supporting characters are fun as well. We get to met too other protectors that are friend of Lenzi and Alden and they get to help out along the way. They have great personalities and were also able to shed more light on the story so we could see more of Lenzi's past memories.

There is action in this book and one very upset soul that is set on killing Lenzi. I loved the story, characters and conclusion in this book. This is definitely one book I will own and probably re-read again and again.
