Aimee and Alan have secrets. Both teens have unusual pasts and abilities they prefer to keep hidden. But when they meet each other, in a cold Maine town, they can't stop their secrets from spilling out. Strange things have been happening lately, and they both feel that something-or someone- is haunting them. They're wrong. Despite their unusual history and powers, it's neither Aimee nor Alan who is truly haunted. It's Alan's cousin Courtney who, in a desperate plea to find her missing father, has invited a demon into her life-and into her body. Only together can Aimee and Alan exorcise the ghost. And they have to move quickly, before it devours not just Courtney but everything around her.
Wow!!! I loved this book! I am a definite fan of Carrie Jones and her Need series and her teaming up with Steven Wedel was a great idea.
I loved Aimee and Alan and even though crazy things were happening they were able to see past the ridiculous and do what was needed. It was interesting to see the changes that the people in town were going through throughout this story. It started of small with adjustments in attitudes to full on 180 degree changes. People that were normally friendly to everyone were suddenly starting fights with strangers. I liked that we were slowly put into the craziness instead of just thrown into complete chaos.
I really liked the Native American aspects that this book had. Alan was sure he was Native American but not 100% on which tribe, although he believed he was Navajo. Because of the uncertainty of the tribe he was able to draw on legends and customs of a lot more tribes and I liked that.
This is definitely going to be a book that I will re-read many times over. Great Read!!
